Mamak has always been a popular spot for the midnight kakis to hang out to have something to drink or some shit. But, why is the mamak food so expensive?
When you eat rice, normal white rice, a piece of chicken usually sets u back at RM 3 – RM4. Rice RM1, and one egg at RM1 as well. Uh.. the chicken is expensive indeed. And it’s not like a one big damn piece. I don’t see why chickens are often overpriced. The chickens are not going to extinct anytime soon right?
P/S: I don’t understand why nasi lemak ayam is usually cheaper than nasi putih, nasi lemak ayam is usually RM4.50, with one mata lembu egg, one piece of fried chicken, sambal, ikan bilis and peanuts. What’s the logic here?
And the mamak association said they had not raised the price of roti canai since 8 years ago, so, now, even a roti kosong will cost like RM1? If you want to pamper yourself, you might want to order a roti telur, which is like RM 1.80 now? With another milo ais, the whole meal will have a total like RM 3+.
Uh…I never consider mamak as reasonably-priced food outlet. A supper can easily become more expensive than your regular meal!
