Sloppy Chic

I have always seen the name ‘Roti John’ at the pasar malam, but I had never tried it until some months ago, and I have fallen in love with it ever since.

There is this mamak stall square at Taman Tun, opens every evening except for Sunday I think. The stall specializes in Roti John. This is actually a bread fried with minced beef, it looks something like burger, but it tastes totally differently from burger.  A friend told me that he actually had a fried cockroach fried in his beef last time! But, he demanded a new burger and continued to eat. -_-.

But seriously, the place is not very pleasant to eyes, so I just close one eye at eat. I think this thing is about RM3 or so.

When was the best time of your life?

I had the best time of my life when I left my previous job and before I joined new company. Everyday was heaven. Sleep, drama, surf, blog, shopping, movie..

Everything is different now.

Johor Bahru, has become the most high risk city in our country, everywhere you go in JB, it’s dangerous. They say, ” You are not from JB if you have never been robbed!” Sadly, this is true.

Suddenly, I am home sick again after looking at these backdated pictures.

This is not in the city centre, you have to go in very very far after you turn into Perling. Everyone knows about the Kampung Orang Asli, in fact Orang Asli still live there, but they are very modern now. It’s very deep inside like the forest, you can overlook Singapore buildings from this place.There are a few seafood restaurants there, but this shop has the best and reasonable priced food.

I am sure you know about these prawns. They are fried with.. cereal?

This is my favourite, fried baby sotong. The big sotongs not as nice as these babies.

Finally, this is the masterpiece! My fav among all seafood. Black pepper crab!

Man.. I miss home. It’s sickening to go work in jam everyday, do your own laundry, come home jam, and to think of my own dinner. Sickening. Life sucks.

 Although there is no more RM2 fare, but I still go sushi king!

Piri-piri chicken set. It’s like fried chicken with chili powder and mayonnaise.

This set comes with a miso soup, my fav!

And a chawan mushi… and also a yakut! and rice. It’s at RM16.90. Nothing special about the fried chicken, it’s just, fried chicken.

This is the… I forgot the name, but on top of the rice is the combo of mashed potato and mayo. It’s nice to eat while the seaweed is still crunchy.

I think this is their new stuff. It has unagi wrapped in the beancurd, instead of rice only. not too bad, it’s RM3 for a single one.

Next time I go there, I must eat their garlic rice! But, when you order, you must remember to tell them to put less oil. Otherwise your rice will be floating in oil.
