Being part of the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2009, Tai zi Heen @ Prince Hotel sure has a lot to offer.

Thanks to invitation from Shirley and BBO, we had the chance to be one of the first fews to get a taste of the exquisite menu at this multiple-award-winnings restaurant.

Before stepping into Tai Zi Heen, we had the privilege of browsing through Carven Ong’s collection of bridal/evening gowns. I was really amazed by the selections and designs! I wish I could have one custom-made for myself too.

The neon-lights with the Hong Kong Encounter menu upon the entrance, it gives a very 60′s feel right?

What’s better than beautiful girls welcoming you to a restaurant with mega-watts smile?

Fast forward to stepping into the restaurant, oh boy, I felt like being at some grand wedding dinner! Look at the table settings, aren’t they just lovely?

The appetizer selection:

Wok-fried prawn with Asian Tomato and black sesame dressing, Crispy yam puff with foie gras and minced chicken, Steamed cod dumpling with crabmeat glaze and Shredded beef with dried tangerine peel.

Can you spot the foie gras?  Well I couldn’t

Ever heard of Daniel Boulud? To be honest, many of us never heard of him too.

We were invited to watch the one hour special of Daniel Boulud’s “One Night In Singapore”. It was held in NEO, just beside KFC building at Jalan Sultan Ismail.

Special thanks to Alice George Communication for inviting us bloggers to this special screening of the program which was shown on Asian Food Channel (AFC) on Astro Channel 703 starting from 29th of September.

That’s Hian Goh, Managing Director of AFC, which introduces Daniel Boulud, and the program.

This program is basically about Daniel Boulud’s adventure in Singapore, having a look at our South East Asian’s food culture, specialties, and even meeting up the renowned chefs around this region. The main event was preparing a dinner in an unfamiliar environment in a hotel. I won’t be spoiling the show here, so watch it on AFC!

NEO is built and designed by Federico Asaro who happens to be the owner as well. The design is rather unusual, blending both outdoor and indoor element.

Interested to see some Leonardo Da Vincci’s paintings?

I actually have never thought much about his paintings till I watched the movie – Angels and Demons.

And guess what? Now they have 188 exhibits in Pusat Sains Negara from 1st Oct 2009 onwards. Best part is, Gallivanter is giving 100 tics for free!
