Absolutely Mouth-Watering Indonesian Cuisine at Waroeng Mas Timoer – Sunway Giza
Posted by sloppychic under Food[11] Comments
Sunway Giza is apparently one of the hittest place in town – blooming with endless eateries. Other than the tall monster burger, there is Indonesian food too!
And one of the hidden gem I have discovered recently is this Waroeng Mas Timoer, serving quite authentic Indonesian cuisine. It is quite unique and not similar to Bali-bali chain kind of food.
Teh Botol Sosro -The famous drink in Indonesia.
I can’t quite describe the taste, to me it tastes like a mixture of gas-less Sarsi and Jasmine tea. The after-taste is quite strong.
Soup ekor or Buntut SapiÂ
The meat in the soup is tender, and the soup is light yet sweet. When I added a little bit of chili into the soup, it tasted even better with a zing!
The chili sauces available at the restaurant. Love the kicap one the most!
Appetizer - Grilled Sotong or Cumi Cumi
I really love this dish! There is a very nice fragrance of grilled and slightly burnt smell of the sotong that made it smell REAL good! And the sotong is springy and not rubbery at all!
Deep Fried Flying Fish – Ikan Kerapu Goreng
I have been reading and seeing so many pictures of this flying fish on the Bali posts from other blogs, now I can easily have it here without flying to Bali.
The meat is still fresh and juicy after being fried, and the batter tastes even better! I was told that the all the fish are bought from Selayang market to ensure the freshness of the fish.
Terung Goreng Balado
I am quite a fan of brinjal (although I am allergic to it, it makes my mouth itchy but I still eat it!). This is quite an easy to prepare dish at home, provided you have the right chilli to go with. The chili paste in this restaurant is so nice that you would rather eat it the restaurant than attempting to prepare at home!
Grilled Chicken – Grill Paha Ayam
I love the sauce of this chicken thigh is grilled with, however, some parts of the meat are a bit dry for my preference. I prefer my chicken thigh to be REALLY smooth and juicy! But this is the most-favorite dish of my friend!
Prawns with petai.
The prawns are quite fresh sweet and gosh the sauce is heavenly! Need I say more?
Overall, it was a very satisfying dinner at a spacious and cozy environment. And they have a LCD TV on the wall too!
This shop is located to the left side of Cravings and next to some babyland shop.

Love the kerapu pics, crispy and delicious!
Like the dining place leh…chun!
