Belanga Mid Valley

Mid Valley has become a recent lunch point now ever since I started working nearby.

And I have always wondered why this shop is so crowded during the lunch hour. There must be something good about it right.

It’s not a big shop and sad to say the tables are all tiny weeny. But the shop has some really nice traditional decos though.

Mee Bandung

Flipping through the menu, we ordered Mee Bandung (Prawn Mee) @ RM12.90.

It is quite  a big portion and comes with a few big prawns. Being no fan of prawns, I think the gravy is alright. But I always prefer mine to be sour!

Nasi Kerabu Beef

I ordered a Nasi Kerabu with Grilled Beef Tenderloin@ RM13.90.

Nasi Kerabu comes with few choices of sides, eg fish, prawns, beef, ayam perchik.  I would say this is not shabby at all for the price as the beef portion was quite reasonable!

Belanga has no huge dining area but they do serve quite an extensive menu with Kelatanese cuisines. My next target there would be the Nasi Tumpang @ RM6.50!

Belanga is located at the LG in the Gardens side, next to CIMB bank and Nyonya Colors.

Being a Malaysian is great! Great in the sense that, we have so much food and reasons to celebrate all year long.

Since Ramadan is just around the corner, and it definitely means more chances for feasting.

This year, Sime Darby Convention Centre too offers Ramadan Buffet, and best of all, they have a special take-away service. (3pm – 6.30pm daily) It means, you can buy all the buka puasa food from there, and take away! Best part is – It is the price of the regular  Ramadan Bazaar, but much cleaner than the street stalls.

Stalls are setup to make you feel like dining in a real bazaar.

A variety of food can be found at SDCC: Ikan bakar, satay, chicken rice, fish curry and etc.

2010-08-213

I especially love the chicken satay! It is soft, and has a slight crispy and burnt smell.  And ikan bakar is my favorite too. ^_^

And and, they have a stall for fried ice cream too! Just choose your flavor and they will fry on the spot for you. Do note that you need to savor this as soon as it is served. I took the ice cream, wandered for a while, and it melted :(

Other than the buffet spread, you can go for the Ramadan Set at China Treasures ranging from RM398++/6 pax to RM568++/10 pax.

RM568++/10 pax menu consists of:

Ramadan Yee Sang

Puree of Winter Melon with Seafood

The seafood soup is really sweet as it is enriched with puree of winter melon, light and refreshing to warm your tummy.

Shallow Fried Crispy Chicken

Shallow Fried Crispy Chicken

Many might frown when they see roasted chicken in the menu of a restaurant; but I love the juiciness of the chicken and the crispy skin! Even the chicken breast is not dry.

How time flies and it is time of the year again!

This year, Prince Hotel has specially setup counters at Eccucino featuring popular Malaysian dishes from various states and home-cooked kampung dishes.

Hot Pot Soup Counter

One of my favorite stalls – The Kampung Style Hot Pot Soup, featuring Signature Beef Ribs and Oxtail with Root Vegetables and Spice.

Gosh can you feel the beef ribs smiling at you, and the passion in cooking this? The broth is thick and extremely flavorful. Topped with fried shallots, and paired with tender beef ribs, ah it is a bliss on a cold and rainy day.

Tulang Rawan Masak Kuzi (Braised Beef Ribs Kuzi Style)

The braised beef ribs was one of the hits of the night too, the ribs were cooked to soft and tender, and I almost wanted to swallow the bones as well.

Nasi Briyani (Basmati Rice Cook in Briyani Style)

And oh, did I mention that the Tulang Rawan go very well with Nasi Briyani too?
