Places

Gosh it’s been almost 2 months and I am still blogging about my Korea trip. Tell me that late is better than never.

Our trip was supposed to be a spring trip, but the weather was crazy and spring came really late.  We were really excited thinking that we could see cherry blossoms (sakura) in Seoul. Sadly we could not wait longer.

Bus schedule to Jinhae

So, we decided to hunt for sakura on our own – traveling to another town – Jinhae. Just a little background, Jinhae is a city in South Gyeongsang in South Korea. It is about 4 hours away from Seoul by bus.

This was an impromptu trip as we bumped into another couple friends from our wedding photos shooting trip in Everland. The 4 of us had no fear and decided to adventure.

Bus station

The bus terminal was clean and neat. And definitely no foul smell!

It is a shame that everything in Korea is in Korean. We had trouble understanding the details, we could only count on the counter lady to give us the right bus to our destination.

Our bus tickets. Also in Korean!

Buns

Armed with only 2 buns from the Family Mart, we were on our way. :D

coach

Our coach was quite comfy and almost brand new.  We took a midnight bus to save our time.

sakura

What greeted us was trees and trees of sakura!

And to our horror, when we reached at about 3.30 am in the morning, it was dead cold and windy! I was not expecting this and hence I was only wearing a thin jacket. It was blistering cold and wind was strong. And the bus station was closed!!!

The roads were so quiet, and 4 of us wandering on the road like lost souls in the middle of night.

We walked for more than an hour in the cold wind, and when we finally saw a MacDonalds, we thought God has come to our rescue!

I seriously could not have loved MacD’s more then.

Bacon

Bliss! Hot coffee and bacon breakfast set.

We waited in MacDonald’s till the day turned bright at about 6.30am.

Armed with 2 tickets, I booked a room for a price of RM240 because it was a super peak season! Ouch!

Heavy Traffic

And believe it or not, traffic was mad heavy started from Batu Caves.

Check in kiosk in First World

Did you know that: Now, if you book your room online, you can just check in and the express check in kiosk! All you need to do is to insert your IC (if you booked the room), then a receipt will be printed. From there you can check your room number and do keep the receipt to claim your breakfast if you are entitled to.

Jan Lamb Standup Comedy

The show started at 8pm and I did not know what to expect at all.

I watched some of his videos online and they were badly recorded, hence I could not see anything.

Packed hall

And to my surprise, the hall was full!!! I thought no one would bother watching a standup comedy, especially since he is only a Hong Kong star.

Inspired by Sex and the City 2, the partnership between SKYY Vodka and the second edition of the Sex and the City film reached another city. We had the pleasure of attending the event of Skyy Vodka launch. It was a glamorous event held in Sultan Lounge of Mandarin Oriental as there were a couple of celebrities there as well!

It’s been long since I last continued from my Korea trip, but here it is :D

On our 4th day in Korea, we decided to explore our way to Everland, it is a theme park, with the world’s largest wooden roller coaster!

Streets of Seoul

Exiting from Gangnam Exit 6 (subway station), we began our journey finding our way to Everland.

The roads in Korea are huge and there are bus stops in the middle lane. Therefore it is really hard to find a certain bus stop unless you know the way in and out.

We had to ask some strangers for direction because we walked for 15 mins and still could not find the bus stop to Everland. It was tough as it was either most people did not understand us, or they did not know how to explain to us.

Bus 5002 to Everland

And finally 30 mins later we found it! The bus 5002 that goes Everland.

5002 Bus to Everland

Hello bus 5002. We only waited for less than 5 mins for the bus to arrive.

Inside the bus

As early as 11am in the morning on a week day, the road was packed and all the vehicles moved closely with each other.

After about an hour’s of bus ride, we finally reached our destination! Although it was sunny, it was also windy and quite cold.

Everland grand entrance

We were excited to explore the place we have read so much in the booklet.

tulips in everland

What greeted us was a sea of tulips! Pretty! It felt so blissful to see colorful flowers at that moment, totally lightened up our day already.

stalls selling cute hats

Then we saw some stalls selling really cute hairbands. I didn’t get any though because it was quite useless..and not so cheap! (Don’t judge me!)
