Fancy a lavish spread to berbuka puasa with?
From now till 9 September 2010, Nikko Hotel will be offering buffet with spread of traditional local specialties from four different Malaysian States and “a-la-kampung” favourites.
The huge dining are ensures you a spacious area for your movements. So, you don’t have to worry about kids running and hitting you while you are carrying mountains of food.
Let’s have a look at the featured dishes.
Kepala Ikan Merah Masak Assam Pedas
Sambal Ikan Bilis bersama Petai dan Bawang India
Masak Cili Api Perut Bersama Rebung Muda
A variety of cold drinks is served. My favorite is the yellow drink, which is the jagung soya. It is delicious and sounds healthy!
For the really thirst quenching drinks, you should go for the young coconuts.
Coconuts will be cut upon request therefore you can have the freshest juice.
What’s Ramadhan without some ketupat right?
The salad bar offers quite some selections. You can choose from the normal healthy salad or some tangy salad that will boost your appetite.
And of course, fruits are a-MUST for a tropical country. Can you spot the dragon fruits in the picture?
A variety of kuih-muih is served.
And also chocolate fondue or kumar as the dessert.
I have forgotten to snap a picture of the delicious bubur lambuk, but in this buffet spread, you can even have your own teochew porridge with salted fish and salted egg! Not only that, they serve curry noodles too.
On the outside of the dining area, you can find stalls of local cuisine, including satay, kebab, tandoori chicken, as well as a WHOLE roasted lamb!

Photo credited to ahbok, because I was so hungry I forgot to snap picture of the stalls. T__T
On a side note, I love their mini mooncakes!
Redbean and durian flavor.
It is soft, and definitely less sweet than most of the mooncakes I have eaten. Best of all, before you can get sick of the mooncake, you would have finished the bite already!
