I heard about the Eye On Malaysia from both my friends and the papers, I had been wanting to go since quite some time ago, and, today, finally, I went, an unplanned trip. Moreover, it’s Visit Malaysia 2007, as a Malaysian, the more reasons I should get my ass there. I used to write about picnic stories in Taman Titiwangsa when I was primary school. Taman Titiwangsa is like the default place in KL for a family day trip on Sunday as always written in the textbook.
It was not hard to find for first timer, as long as you know how to go to Setapak area, they have ONE signboard pointing you to the Eye when you are near the place. But, again, what’s the use of the signboard when you have managed to find the place? Typical Malaysian signboard.
When I was about to reach there, it started to drizzle. Damn. I went down car anyway since the drizzle is not going to kill me, or the camera. After finding a good spot, which was under a tree, I began to wonder at the Eye, it did not look like what I saw from the papers. The lights around the wheel were not as bright. But the fountain beside the Eye was beautiful, they actually project the clip on the fountain. Great indeed.
I think about 10pm, they annouced “Good Night”. So, I thought the lights were going off so early. Good news was they only shut down the fountain, and the Eye looked even brighter and more beautiful than early. Great! It’s just like what I saw from the papers!
Beside the wheel, there is this Eye Cafe, I wonder what’s going to happen to the EYE Cafe when the Eye is not there anymore, I heard this Eye is not permanently stationed in Malaysia. Taman Titiwangsa is a beautiful place, the Eye is over looking both our Petronas Twin Tower and National Library.
If you have never been to Taman Titiwangsa before, I think you should make a trip there. At least like, once a life time.
