Famous Claypot Loh She Fun at Mama Kitchen – Puchong Branch
Posted by sloppychic under Chinese[15] Comments
When I heard about the chance to have a tasting session at Mama Kitchen Puchong Branch, I was overjoyed as I always visit the branch in TTDI. No doubt, I was quite familiar with their menu already.
Will the Puchong outlet carry the same quality?
Let’s find out!
The bunting at the restaurant. I have never visited the one in Jalan Sultan though.
Here comes the star of the restaurant – Claypot Loh She Fun – RM7 (S) RM12 (M) and RM15 (L)
Ahh raw egg is a bliss, with minced meat overloaded is a double joy.
Mix everything together and you get a thick, nice meaty and eggy rat tail noodles.
Garlic Roasted Pork Wanton Noodle (烧肉é¢) – RM8 (S) RM12 (M) and RM16 (L)
Another favorite of mine is this roasted pork wanton noodle. There is no wanton in this, but it is loaded with caramelized roasted pork. It is sweet and crispy, and full garlic fragrance.
Assam Fish (亚三金凤鱼 ) – Seasonal price applies
The fish was really fresh! I remember seeing 6 fish in the fish tank when I sat down, but before I left, I counted again and only 5 were left. I wonder where the fish had gone to.
The assam gravy of this dish really triggered my appetite and white rice is definitely the dish’s best friend.
Peppercorn Pig Stomach Soup (猪肚汤) – RM12 (S) RM18 (M) and RM25 (L)
The soup is not as thick as I would love it to be and I found it to be too pepperish. However, you will be sure to get your money worth as it is loaded with pig stomach.
Large Fresh Water Prawns Fried Noodles (生虾é¢) – RM15 (S) RM28 (M) and RM25 (L)
Oh god! That was my first thought when I saw this dish. Although this dish has been in the menu as long as the Loh She Fun but I have never ordered this.
As you can see from the picture, the prawns are really fresh and gorgeous! And the gravy tasted so well with additional taste from the prawns.
Honey Pork Belly (蜜æ±èŠ±è…©) – RM15 (S) RM20 (M) and RM30 (L)
Every strip of pork belly is well battered and fried, once you sink your teeth into them, it is both fatty and crispy. Nice!
Marmaite Chicken (妈密鸡) – RM13 (S) RM20 (M) RM30 (L)
Spicy “Kam Heong” La-La (金香啦啦) - RM10 (S) RM15 (M) RM20 (L)
Creamy Buttered Squid (奶油稣冬) – RM12 (S) RM20 (M) RM30 (L)
Bitter Gourd Tofu Soup (苦瓜汤) – RM6 (S) RM10 (M) RM13 (L)
Bitter gourd soup is actually very good for health as it can keep your body cool. I would not rate bitter gourd as my favorite food, but I do eat it!
And finally choy-dam to complete the meal.
Overall I would say Mama Kitchen is a decent place for family meal. You get what you pay for and the food selection is huge.
