Warning! Heavy duty of pictures!

It’s been a long weekend and i hope all of you have enjoyed the extra 1 day off. More time off also means more food consumption and celebration.

Sadly, I did not have the chance to visit any of my Indian friends as I have gone back home to celebrate both my grandma and my father’s birthdays.

the food spread

The food spread on first table. Fried chicken..coleslaw..oat fried prawn..fishballs..tofu..

It’s actually better to eat in when you have plenty of little monsters running about in the house, esp when you wouldn’t want to run after them in restaurants.

steamed chicken

My grandma’s significant steamed chicken. It’s smooth and silky, no one else can master her cooking skill. My mom has tried many times with her recipe but the results were just different…

oat prawn

Fried prawn with oats. You can use the normal oats, and season the oats by adding some black pepper, sugar and a little bit of salt. Deep fry the prawn first, then fry some curry leaf and the oats, then final step is mixing the prawns together with the oats. Delicious!

coleslaw

A big tray of coleslaw… easy and healthy.

fried chicken

Fried chicken with bread crumbs, with juice retaining in the meat still.

hakka char yuk

Hakka zhar yuk (Hakka fried pork) with black fungus. I am not a big fan of fatty pork, but I like the black fungus which is soft and tender, and tasty.

shark fin soup

Home made sharkfin soup with tonnes of sharkfin in the soup. I don’t know if the sharkfin is real or not though…

fried vege

Stir-fried multiple veges and mushrooms.

taufu

Fried tofu with meat. I don’t usually like tofu but I am ok with this type of tofu.

curry chicken

Curry chicken! Very tasty to go with fried meehoon.

fried meehoon

The meehoon.

egg tarts

And lastly, some home-made egg tarts and also jelly(not in picture) as dessert.

Who wouldn’t grow fat if there are so many celebrations going on?
