China Treasures, located on the 1st Floor of the Sime Darby Convention Centre, serves halal Chinese cuisine. So you can invite your Muslim friends along too.
It’s been a while since I last came to China Treasures, and it had undergone some major renovation. The courtyard, although unique and rather authentic in a Chinese restaurant, is taking up precious space. So they have removed the courtyard completely, and create more dining space, with privates rooms catering up to 40 person.
The first dish was the Sliced Cold Chicken topped with Green Chilli Sauce. Although I’m quite used to cold food, but this is quite something else. But I didn’t enjoy it that much.
Appetizers
On the other hand, Deep Fried Mushroom with Wasabi Sauce is really nice, especially after dipping the mayonnaise based wasabi sauce. Definitely recommended as an apertiser.
Deep Fried Shimeiji Mushroom with Salted Egg is another favourite of mine. A slight hint of salted egg, and it is also a little sweet. I will definitely come back for more of these.
Main Courses:
Double Boiled Seafood Soup in Whole Pumpkin comes with cleap soup, but with sweet aromatic taste. It is also the cheapest soup served in the here. Although there’s no pricey ingredients in it, I tasted some soft scallop. Nice for something that doesn’t burn your pocket!
Steam Live Star Garupa was still swimming in the tank less than an hour ago before it was served, so it has to be fresh and surely it was. Steamed with soya sauce, it will definitely please most fish lovers.
Then came the Roasted Duck Hong Kong Style. Unlike some of the roasted duck I’ve tried, this is really tender, even the breast meat.
There’s nothing really unusual about the Sauteed Seasonal Vegetables with Garlic, other than its presentation. But it’s not too bad, comes with assorted of veges like lotus root.
When slicing this Pan Fried Beef Cutlet toasted over with Mangolian Sauce, you will be surprised how soft and tender the meat is.
Prawn is not my most favorite but Deep Fried Prawns with Portugese Sauce changed my mind!
Sauteed Lamb Cubes with Sliced Garlic might sound normal, but once you bite into the tender lamb cubes, the aroma will linger in your mouth together with the fragrance of sliced garlic.
Hi Sifu! Where is my la mien?
Freshly done! Few minutes ago, it was just flour, and now La Mian with Minced Chicken and Mushroom in Spicy Sauce is in my stomach!
Desserts:
Chilled Mango Cream with Pamelo and Sago is an interesting and refreshing dessert which has pleased everyone around the table.
I have tried blended avocado, avocado facial cleanser, avocado the fruit, but Chilled Avocado Pudding is an eye opener for me.
Another refreshing dessert Chilled Almond and Lychee, with the fragrance and unique taste of almond, they make a fresh combination!
Last but not least, Durian Pancake to complete the whole meal. Ahh life is blissful!
Meet the master, Chef David. Now, the smile is promising right?
I am sure Wilson has discovered this place earlier and already has something in store for us soon.
