If you are a pork lover, you should have eaten char siew somewhere before? At chicken rice stalls, or char siew store or something.
I love char siew too, but not those roasted ones from the chiken rice stalls. I only eat my mom’s home made char siew. The preparation is pretty simple.

Before it’s cooked.
1. choose some pork muscles part, the meat is very very springy and tender, they look like balls. do not use those that taste like chicken breast meat, it sucks.
2. marinate the pork with food colorings. available at those grocery stores. leave it marinated up to hours or overnight.
3. cut a lotta garlic and fry them a little.
4. dump your marinated pork in pot, cook with small fire, for about an hour.
5. you can slice them and ready to be serve. in your pot you should also have some gravy with alotta garlic. serve them in a bowl and eat with the char siew.
Cooked.
All ready on dining table.
Simple and nice. And I really love this!
Updated: I forgot something very important, when you marinate this, you need to add also salt and sesame oil, not the colorings alone.
