Thank god it’s friday! Although TGI is tasty, but it’s bad for my pocket you see. I have to constantly search for food that is tasty but does not burn a big hole. I have to pay my own rental, petrol, food, clothes and shit. Ah, moneh moneh.
Well, I was wandering in One-U last night thinking of what to eat. Totally ran out of idea, I decided to go Kluang Station. Now, I think they have like 2 or 3 brances in Klang Valley. I am from Kluang, but me is not a big fan of the Kluang Station, not even the authentic coffee shop at the Kluang railway station. Rumour has it that this Kluang Station is actually not owned by the original owner, instead, a relative of the original owner hijacked this name. But, how true it is, I do not know, it’s just a hearsay.
The environment there still maintains the old look of the station. I wonder why wouldn’t they give something like 10% off the bill when you show your IC that you are from Kluang. Sounds good to me I know.
This is actually what they are famous for, and coffee. But me not big fan of coffee as I don’t feel good after drinking it. This toast was good, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. RM1.50 for 2 slices of bread.
Their menu has quite limited choices for food. They serve other food like nasi lemak set, chicken porridge, Kluang laksa…etc. Most people say this chicken chop is good. And, well, for the price of RM9.90, you can’t expect it to be perfect. The ketchup combination made the whole thing quite appetizing.
This is some fish & wedges set, it looks a little pathetic. But it was tasty. I actually preferred this than the chicken. This is at RM8.30.

Kluang Railway authentic coffee shop is:
1. crowded
2. hot
3. noisy
4. they bring you wrong order
5. the tea is so sweet that you will get sore throat in just a gulp.
had the same chicken chop thing last time i was there, at the ikano one. so-so only la. their curry puff also not authentic one.
stupid lah, the kluang station lost it when they decided to franchise the name…
wow, I like the chicken chop. It looks so delicious ler.
RM1.50 for 2 slices of bread.
faint.
simon: yeah I think there is nothing special about it.
Mossie: i think it’s quite sad for them to have lost the trademark
Xavier: The chicken chop was not ok ok, if you like ketchup you will enjoy it.
trin: toast these days is expensive..

It’s not a rumour. I’m from Kluang, and has been living here since I was born. And my brother (who lives in KL) asked the worker at original Kluang Railway Station about the other venue… and it wasn’t thiers. The only one they had is the one at Plaza Kotaraya (I think, but it’s true there’s one shop in JB. I saw the adress at the coffee bag.) and behind Kluang Parade besides the original shop at Kluang Railway.
btw.. even though I’ve been living here since.. forever… I’ve never been to Kluang Railway Station shop ^^ Not a fan of coffe >.
hey, i’m a cvery close friend with the owners of Kluang station,i’m in the FnB industry as well.. The original Kluang station at the railway station was established by thier great great grandfather in 1938. Its not a franchise.
Cheers,
Nabil
