Being a Malaysian is great! Great in the sense that, we have so much food and reasons to celebrate all year long.

Since Ramadan is just around the corner, and it definitely means more chances for feasting.

This year, Sime Darby Convention Centre too offers Ramadan Buffet, and best of all, they have a special take-away service. (3pm – 6.30pm daily) It means, you can buy all the buka puasa food from there, and take away! Best part is – It is the price of the regular  Ramadan Bazaar, but much cleaner than the street stalls.

Stalls are setup to make you feel like dining in a real bazaar.

A variety of food can be found at SDCC: Ikan bakar, satay, chicken rice, fish curry and etc.

I especially love the chicken satay! It is soft, and has a slight crispy and burnt smell.  And ikan bakar is my favorite too. ^_^

And and, they have a stall for fried ice cream too! Just choose your flavor and they will fry on the spot for you. Do note that you need to savor this as soon as it is served. I took the ice cream, wandered for a while, and it melted :(

Other than the buffet spread, you can go for the Ramadan Set at China Treasures ranging from RM398++/6 pax to RM568++/10 pax.

RM568++/10 pax menu consists of:

Ramadan Yee Sang

Now, Yee Sang for Ramadan is interesting right? Added with dates  as a twist, it tasted refreshing!

Puree of Winter Melon with Seafood

Puree of Winter Melon with Seafood

The seafood soup is really sweet as it is enriched with puree of winter melon, light and refreshing to warm your tummy.

Shallow Fried Crispy Chicken

Shallow Fried Crispy Chicken

Many might frown when they see roasted chicken in the menu of a restaurant; but I love the juiciness of the chicken and the crispy skin! Even the chicken breast is not dry.

Braised Prawns with Chef's Homemade Sauce

Braised Prawns with Chef’s Homemade Sauce

As you can see, the prawns are huge and coated with salted egg yolk.  No doubt, every Chinese will praise this dish. The prawns are really succulent and fresh! *Thumbs up*

Steamed Patin Shanghai Style

Steamed Patin Shanghai Style

Patin fish is always to be served as steamed fish, in fact, I think i have not eaten Patin cooked in any other way.

The plus point of this dish is the ginger drizzled on top of the fish. Some might not like ginger but it added a zing to the steamed fish.

Sauteed Baby Kai Lan with Belacan

Although the set is meant for 10 pax, but can easily feed 13 pax due to the generous portion.

Steamed Beancurd with Black Bean Sauce

You see what I meant by the generous portion?

Mooncake Platter

Mooncake Platter is one of the dishes on the menu!

It is a great way to celebrate 2 occasions at one shot.

Double Yolk Mooncake

Double Yolk Mooncake

Did you notice the square shape instead of the boring round ones? Unique indeed!

Snow Skin Mooncake From top left: Tiramisu, Green Tea, Mocha, Double Yolk

The Green Tea mooncake is no joke as the skin is made of Long Jin tea leaves. When your teeth sink into the mooncake, the fragrance of the tea will send you to heaven!

mooncake box

The beautiful box that comes with the mooncake.

Good news is, for every Ramadan Set Dinner purchased, you are entitled to buy a box of mooncake for just RM10! You get the choose the variety and it comes with the beautiful wooden carrier box. Sweet?

Even if you don’t intend to  get the set dinner, each mooncake only retails at RM12.50. For that quality, I would say is darn worth it!
