Being a Malaysian is great! Great in the sense that, we have so much food and reasons to celebrate all year long.

Since Ramadan is just around the corner, and it definitely means more chances for feasting.

This year, Sime Darby Convention Centre too offers Ramadan Buffet, and best of all, they have a special take-away service. (3pm – 6.30pm daily) It means, you can buy all the buka puasa food from there, and take away! Best part is – It is the price of the regular  Ramadan Bazaar, but much cleaner than the street stalls.

Stalls are setup to make you feel like dining in a real bazaar.

A variety of food can be found at SDCC: Ikan bakar, satay, chicken rice, fish curry and etc.

I especially love the chicken satay! It is soft, and has a slight crispy and burnt smell.  And ikan bakar is my favorite too. ^_^

And and, they have a stall for fried ice cream too! Just choose your flavor and they will fry on the spot for you. Do note that you need to savor this as soon as it is served. I took the ice cream, wandered for a while, and it melted :(

Other than the buffet spread, you can go for the Ramadan Set at China Treasures ranging from RM398++/6 pax to RM568++/10 pax.

RM568++/10 pax menu consists of:

Ramadan Yee Sang

Ramadan Yee Sang

Now, Yee Sang for Ramadan is interesting right? Added with dates  as a twist, it tasted refreshing!

Puree of Winter Melon with Seafood

Puree of Winter Melon with Seafood

The seafood soup is really sweet as it is enriched with puree of winter melon, light and refreshing to warm your tummy.

Shallow Fried Crispy Chicken

Shallow Fried Crispy Chicken

Many might frown when they see roasted chicken in the menu of a restaurant; but I love the juiciness of the chicken and the crispy skin! Even the chicken breast is not dry.

Ramadhan is a great season to enjoy all the local delicacies at a single place. From ayam perchik, ikan bakar, rendang to kuih-muih, it is not hard to over eat.

So, you must eat in moderation!

Worry about your cholesterol level? Now, you can feast healthily with O’Briens sandwiches.

I love the O’Briens outlet in The Curve.

In conjunction with Ramadhan, they have introduced the Ramadhan set – Rendang Wrappo.

@RM16.90, you will get a freshly prepared Rendang Wrappo, a fresh watermelon juice/hot drinks, and a small giftbox that contains kumar and a cadbury choclate.

Can’t see the wrappo close enough?

Yummy chicken rendang wrappo served with chips as side, with secret herbs and fresh diced tomato, you can taste the juiciness of the chicken, east meets west kind of combination.

Another wrappo – Hot Honey Chilli Chicken Wrappo

Another favorite wrappo of mine is this. It tasted both sweet and a little spicy, it is very tangy and it  has the effect of boosting your appetite!

Tuna Swiss Melt @ RM14.10 is another healthy choice toasted with wholemeal bread.

At O’briens, you have a choice of wholemeal or white bread.

Fancy some challenges?

Try this O’Briens Chicken Tripledecker @ RM17.80.

It is a huge tower with 3 pieces of bread with chicken, chicken crisp, cheddar cheese sandwiched in between the bread.

Chicken Slice & Cheddar Cheese on Shambo @ RM15.50.

Paired with fresh tomato and honey mustard mayonnaise, it tasted really good. While it may look small, but it is VERY filling! I love the focaccia (the bread). Seasoned with olive oil and herbs, it is REALLY different from your bread next door.

Festive is usually a season when most of us will spend a lot of money on calls, my mom is always complaining about us spending more money on phone calls and text messages with season greetings.

But, this year is going to be slightly different as since I introduced my family to iTalk WHOA!, we have saved quite a significant amount of money making International calls.

In conjunction of Ramadhan and Aidilfitri, from now on until 30th September 2010, you can enjoy special International (IDD) call rates to 3 selected countries to Fixed and Mobile as low as 9cent/30second.

Excited?
