Having to live in Kluang all my life, the loh-mee, fried rice in my life has always been black like this.
The stuff that I eat are mostly in black, but, when I had my first loh-mee in KL, I had the shock of my life, I couldn’t believe that it is white. And, slowly, I came to realise that things here are all white. White loh-mee, white fried rice.
In fact, I still like them with soysauce. Black somehow makes them look more appetizing. Don’t you think so? Black is also a good color, it makes people look slim in it! So, let’s support black!!!

Black loh-mee! You got one vote… it’s my favourite!
Black is the new black eh?
weilian: yesh yesh, you know, the old nilai, the shop lots opposite hot market? beside the magnum store, they used to sell very very good claypot loh mee. but now they shifted
tankiasu: hm……i guess new black is still the old black
considering that it’s never been out of the trend
I like soysauce also. Nice and salty too!

trin: I cooked the mac-n-cheese
but nothing could have tasted worse than that
That’s too bad. Though I’ve never seen it come like that here. Did you follow the directions and add the butter and milk? Did you see the one I made?
Nah I think in the 80s black was out of the limelight. Only started to gain back popularity in the early 90s.
trin: I followed the instructions, but it turned out salty instead of cheesy. i will post a pic of the failure
tankiasu: i tot black has been a perpetual fashion color…wat’s popular in 80′s? colorful colors?
